technology wow

I stumbled on this website today that allows you to take any picture of someone and place them in a certain setting weather it be on a billboard, on artwork, or whatever. It's amazing! These two pictures of my daughter are some of my favorites this site created.

easily entertained

I just had to laugh again today when one of my children's most favorite things arrived at our home today. No it wasn't the ice cream man or daddy arriving home from a hard day of work. It was the garbage truck! They absolutely love the garbage truck and they are always there awaiting its arrival every Tuesday morning. I guess they are amazed by its size and the little arms that reach out to lift the cans, shaking all of each can's contents into its belly. As soon as they hear the truck rumbling down the road they run to my daughter's room and claim their spots on my daughter's princess table. They sit and watch in amazement as it goes around to each home on the cul de sac. And they watch it until it drives off and is no longer visible. I just chuckle inside every time.

adding salt to my wound

It was to be the most perfect vacation ever. A trip to Disney World and a Shuttle Launch all in the same week. I had turned into an OCD planner, so unlike myself, and mapped out all the trip's details. Right down to what setting my camera was going to be on and ready to go the minute I heard the NASA man say over the loud speaker, "Lift Off, We Have Lift Off."

So you can only imagine my devastation when I found out just days before we were to leave the launch had been scratched and reassigned to April 5th! Even more devastating was the fact that this was to be one of the last Shuttle Launches before the fleet is retired later this year. So now in defeat I ripped out the shuttle section of my planner that I had worked so hard at creating and told myself, "get over it, life goes on. You win some and you lose some right?" (Ya Right) We were going to Disney World for freaking sake.

Well fast forward to today I wake up and begin my morning routine of getting the kids fed and happy, coffee poured, and laptop open and ready to go. And what is the first thing I see...the most amazing photos of what was to be myyyyy launch.

Two of my most favorite things together in the same photo! Absolutely breathtaking yet salt has now been added to my wound. "Just relax and breathe." I keep telling myself, "This too shall pass."

happy easter!

Yes, I know! There seems to be a common trend going on here already with my posts. But what can I say. I love food!! People who meet me couldn't even guess that by my outwardly boyish stick figure appearance that I love food so much. But those who know me know that I must have a bionicle metabolism because the massive amounts of food that go in do not come out in the hips, buns, thighs and boob areas. So of course for this Easter instead of the lovely ham and all the holiday fixings I convinced my husband to make his specialty. BBQ RIBS! And let me tell you I loved every minute eating them. Happy Easter everyone and Bon Appetit.

confection lesson

In the life of a mommy a simple cupcake can bring so much enjoyment. And not for the obvious reasons like its taste, its beautiful colors, or even its fluffy white butter cream topping. Nope. It is the actual time spent making the cupcake with my children. The proud look on my oldest daughter’s face cracking the egg and finally not getting a shell in the batter. The fun math and science lesson my son learned counting out the drops of yellow and blue food coloring to make the perfect shade of green. It was even the look of confusion and curiosity on my 15 month old’s face with what seemed to be liquid before the cupcake went in the oven has now come out as a spongy fun to play with edible delight. Ahhhhhh yes I am so grateful for that simple little cupcake and the enjoyment it has brought.
